Commitments

If re-elected, my commitments will follow the same themes as they did in my first term. 

Community Well-Being

·  Work with community associations and other stakeholder groups to develop a resiliency plan so that residents have resources in case of climate event (e.g. derecho, severe flooding) 


·  Develop a four-year traffic plan to use Temporary Traffic Calming Budget 


·  Work on a funding solution to accelerate funding for pedestrian crossover implementation

Inclusive and Accessible Services

·  Work with Community Associations and a plan to assess the existing legacy fieldhouses and make plans to redevelop at least one


·  Ensure 1245 Kilborn has housing and services that respond to community needs, including examining the potential for long-term care beds 


·  Improve services and programming for both seniors and youth in the Ward

Creating a Sustainable Community

·  Ensure progress on Solid Waste master plan to support greater waste diversion for additional items including furniture and promote community events that support diversion 


·  Work with city staff and community associations to improve stewardship and maintenance of parks and greenspaces including better options for waste  


·  Increased funding for road renewals and active transportation improvements


Engagement

·  Commitment to continued community engagement through town halls, coffee chats, open office hours, weekly newsletters and tailored content in the community newspapers


·  Continued engagement with federal government on key projects impacting our community including ALTO, Build Canada Homes, and disposal of NCC lands


·  Organization of community events in parks, including events that support our local artists

Accountability and Transparency

·  Advocate for improved funding models for parks and recreation to renew and refresh our parks 


·  Continue to participate as a member of Service Review Working Group and Audit Committee to ensure proper stewardship of city funds 


·  Champion reduced duplication of city programs, including for traffic calming programs and improvements to 311 so issues can be better tracked and addressed
